Illness Narratives

As a doctoral research fellow on this narrative inquiry study, I was mentored throughout all stages. The study involved asking people about their experiences in living a life-limiting illness. Over a series of multiple interviews, we met with patients and families living with cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or heart failure. Between the first and second interview, we asked participants to take photos that reflected their experiences of living with a life-limiting illness.

Papers published from this study include:

Ten minutes to midnight: a narrative inquiry of people living with dying with advanced COPD and their family

Life and priorities before death: A narrative inquiry of uncertainty and end of life in people with heart failure and their family members

Living with Dying: A Narrative Inquiry of People with Chronic Kidney Disease and their Family Members
